“Yijing” and “Liu Yao” travel together in search: philosophy readers and diviners share vocabulary, not the same product. A transparent platform separates text, procedure, and explanation.
Two paths
- Reading the Changes: hexagram statements and commentaries as cultural text
- Liu Yao inquiry: a casting/assembly procedure that yields a recordable hexagram structure, then school-based reading
Path 1 cites passages. Path 2 must first make the cast reproducible (method, time if used, six lines, etc.).
Minimum checkable facts
If a tool claims Liu Yao:
- Show the full structural result under its stated rules
- Record how the hexagram was obtained
- If lines quote the classic, open the line — not an irreversible model paraphrase
AI may translate classical Chinese; it must not silently alter the hexagram.
Relation to BaZi
BaZi centers natal pillars; Liu Yao often targets a concrete inquiry. Both can be life reference; inputs differ. Daovian lists related modules as placeholders until methods and knowledge are ready.
Short take
Know whether you bought a casting log or a reading club. Retellable procedure + open sources = reference.
