FAQ

Direct answers about transparency, money, accuracy, and what is actually shipping.

Is Daovian fortune-telling?
We provide structured traditional references with open rules and citable sources. We do not sell guaranteed destiny, and we label the work as life reference — not absolute fate.
What does “transparent” mean in practice?
Three checks: engine facts can be recomputed from inputs; explanations link to algorithm rules or classic passages; AI is fenced to narrate those materials instead of inventing new math.
Can I use the app today?
Not yet for the general public. The app is in build. Request early access on the Contact page; we will invite testers in waves as Today, Bazi, and Almanac stabilize.
Will I have to pay to see my chart?
No. Chart facts and algorithm rules stay free. Pro is for AI explanation, fuller source expansion, auspicious date selection, and higher limits — not for hiding the basic chart.
Which modules are real at launch?
Deep MVP: Today, Bazi, Almanac / dates. Everything else on the Modules page is roadmap-only until we publish method notes and ship calculation.
How is this different from asking a human master?
We optimize for auditability and consistency across users. A skilled practitioner may bring judgment and context we do not claim. Use both as complementary, not interchangeable.
Where do classic passages come from?
We start from open corpora (Markdown / JSON) with thin retrieval, then curate sources over time. If we cannot support a strong traditional claim, we show facts without forcing an interpretation.
Who do I contact for privacy or press?
Email hello@daovian.com. Put “Privacy”, “Press”, or “Early access” in the subject so we can route it quickly.
