Daily digests: retention from calendar facts, not scare pushes

Why Daovian’s opt-in daily and solar-term emails sit on top of Today — verifiable almanac facts and natal relation, never doom scores.

Retention does not have to mean fear. Many metaphysics apps buy opens with “dangerous day” pushes. Users tap once, then mute the channel.

Daovian’s retention surface is Today: stem–branch notes, solar terms, traditional day labels, and — with a primary chart — engine-explained natal relations. Email delivers that same page to the inbox. It is opt-in, and you can turn it off anytime.

What the emails contain

Fact-level digests are on the Free tier. We do not lock “knowing today’s notes” behind a paywall.

Turn it on (about a minute)

  1. Open app.daovian.com and sign in with email.
  2. Create a Bazi chart and set it as your primary chart in Settings (needed for personalized relation; digests still work without one).
  3. In Settings, enable daily and/or solar-term emails.

Every message includes an unsubscribe link; Settings can disable the toggles too.

How blog, product, and email fit

The blog explains method and transparency. The app ships an openable Today. Email sends the same facts on a timezone schedule. All three share one engine — there is no separate “email fortune” model.

If you are comparing scare pushes to auditable tools, try: open Today → create a primary chart → enable one digest. After the email arrives, you should still be able to reconcile the same civil day in the app. That loop is the retention we want.

Pro (list price on Pricing) deepens AI and source expansion; it does not gate “what day is it.”
